In the UK, women represent just 8% of decision makers in investment management. At entry level, it’s not much better - only 20% of applicants to the industry are women. We believe a career in investing is rewarding and fulfilling and our community of investors are set on changing that staggering lack of gender diversity, from the ground up.
We do this by delivering compelling and impactful talks at schools and universities, led by dynamic women in our investors network. We then amplify this with online content bringing further information about careers in investing to girls’ fingertips. The reason for this approach is twofold. We surveyed young women aged 16-21 and found that:
1.Young women don’t understand what investing means and why it’s important to society.
2.There aren’t enough female role models in investing – and if you can't see her, you can't be her.
