All GAIN programmes and events are free to take part in. However, we know that some students and pupils may face extra costs that can make it harder to get involved.

Who can apply for support?
Bursaries are available to students studying at UK universities (except for certain support within the GAIN Empower Investment Internship Programme). Additional conditions apply for internship applicants — please contact us if you’d like more information.
Low-Income Household
Supports attendance to:
- GAIN Events & Insight Days
- GAIN Investment Insight Programme (GIIP) Spring Days (conditions apply – see GIIP FAQs)
- GAIN Empower Investment Internship Programme
What the bursary can help with
- Travel Costs
- Office Attire
Who is eligible?
To apply, your household income must be below £42,611 per year.
If you are applying for costs relating to the Internship Programme, you must have accepted an internship offer. We do not cover costs for travel or expenses for interviews.
You’ll need to provide one of the following:
UK Students:
- Your University student finance letter showing your loan details.
- A school Bursary Letter (for GAIN Insight Days)
International Students:
- A university bursary letter,
- Proof of a financial award, or
- Parental income documents

Distant Travel
Supports attendance to:
- GAIN Events & Insight Days related to our programmes (GIIP or GAIN Empower Investment Internship)
- GAIN Investment Insight Programme (GIIP) Spring Days (conditions apply – see GIIP FAQs)
What the bursary can help with
- Travel Costs
- Accommodation
Who is eligible?
- You must be studying and living in the UK
- You must live over 30 miles from the GAIN event location
- For GIIP Spring Days accomodation: You must travel more than 125 miles from your university or home address to the event
Note: If you’re studying in the same city as the event (during term time), this bursary does not apply.

Schools & Colleges
Supports attendance to:
- GAIN Events & Insight Days
What the bursary can help with
- Travel Costs for up to 5 students & 1 teachers per school/college per event
Who is eligible?
- Schools and colleges with a high proportion of students from disadvantaged backgrounds
Note: If your school doesn’t meet the exact criteria but faces financial barriers, please contact operations@gainuk.org to discuss your situation.
