Asset Risk Consultants and Graduate Assistant Investment Analyst
This role provides support on a range of routine quantitative and qualitative activities related to advising clients on their investment structures and analysing portfolio performance. A methodical approach and strong attention to detail are essential.
You will gain experience in the systems, processes and procedures that underpin all aspects of client administration and reporting.
The role offers the opportunity to develop a broad understanding of investments, the investment management industry and the role of an investment consultant.
Day-to-day responsibilities will vary and will be assigned by your line manager in line with team priorities and your ongoing development.
Reports to the Senior Investment Analyst or Consultant
Key Responsibilities
A list of the key responsibilities:
- Data Collection and Management- Collect and collate data from a variety of sources, including investment managers, custodians and third-party data providers.
- Gather information in response to client requests and reporting timetables, seeking guidance where required
- Maintain organised and up-to-date client records and datasets within ARC’s systems and databases.
- Input data accurately through manual and electronic processes, identifying and escalating any obvious omissions, inconsistencies or data quality issues.
- Client Reporting
- Support the production of regular and ad hoc client reports, ensuring work is completed accurately and within agreed deadlines.
- Assist in the preparation, review and distribution of client reporting under the guidance of your line manager and wider team.
- Client and Investment Manager Support
- Assist with day-to-day communications and enquiries from clients, investment managers and other stakeholders.
- Provide administrative and analytical support to client servicing activities, working under appropriate supervision and escalating issues where necessary.
- Team Collaboration
- Contribute positively to the team’s objectives by working collaboratively with colleagues and supporting shared priorities.
- Build effective working relationships across the business. Demonstrate a proactive approach to learning and professional development.
- Regulatory and Compliance
- Assist with anti-money laundering (AML) and other regulatory monitoring activities, where applicable.
- Support the review of client activity and documentation to help ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Complete mandatory training (e.g. compliance and IT security training) when required.
- Ensure adequate relevant CPD is completed in line with professional body requirements and evidence provided to HR
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Academic qualifications
- Strong literacy and numeracy evidenced by good A Level and GCSE results
- University graduates do not have to have a degree in a related subject although that may be an advantage
Professional qualifications
- No professional qualifications required, but partial or full completion of relevant investment or wealth management qualifications would be an advantage (e.g. Investment Management Certificate (IMC), Investment Advice Diploma (IAD), or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA)
Relevant Experience
- No previous experience necessary. A demonstrable interest in financial markets and the investment management industry is advantageous.

IT skills
Essential:
- Competent user of the Microsoft Office suite
- Ability to produce accurate documents, presentations and reports, and to manage data effectively using spreadsheets.
- Confidence in learning new systems and databases
Desirable:
- Advanced Excel skills; use of formulas and pivot tables
- Experience of working with investment or reporting systems.
- Knowledge of reporting processes would be advantageous.
