GAIN Student Bursary - Low Income Household
This bursary is designed to support students whose financial situation may be a barrier to accessing GAIN opportunities, such as:
GAIN Events (excluding networking drinks unless you are a student participant on the GIIP or GAIN Empower Investment Internship Programme)
GAIN Insight Days
GAIN Investment Insight Programme (GIIP) Spring Days (conditions apply – see GIIP FAQs)
GAIN Empower Investment Internship Programme
What We Cover
Travel Costs
GAIN Events & Insight Days: We’ll cover the full cost of travel
GAIN Empower Internship: We’ll contribute up to £150 toward travel for the first four weeks of your internship
GIIP Spring Days: We’ll cover any remaining travel costs not already covered by the £50 per diem provided by the host firm

GAIN Empower Internship: £150 contribution
Eligibility
To qualify, your household income must be less than £42,611 per year. You’ll need to provide:
UK Students: A student finance letter confirming your loan
International Students: A university bursary letter, proof of a financial award, or parental income documentation
To process your application, we need your form, eligibility documentation, receipts, and bank details within 5 working days of the event ending.
All bursary awards are granted at GAIN’s discretion.
All GAIN programmes and events are free to participate in, however we recognise there are other costs which can prohibit students and pupils taking advantage of them. We have 3 bursary options available to support with accessing our opportunities:

Please note: Bursaries are available to students studying at UK universities (with the exception of available support for the GAIN Empower Investment Internship Programme). Additional conditions apply for those on our internship programme - contact us for details.
GAIN Student Bursary: Distant Travel
This bursary helps students with significant travel costs access GAIN activities, including:
GAIN Events (excluding networking drinks unless you are a student participant on the GIIP or GAIN Empower Investment Internship Programme)
GAIN Insight Days
GIIP Spring Days
What We Cover
Travel Costs
GAIN Events & GAIN Insight Days - We’ll reimburse either £50 or 50% of your travel ticket (whichever is lower), regardless of household income
Accommodation
GIIP Spring Days – For GIIP participants, we’ll contribute up to £150 toward an additional night’s stay before the Spring Days in April (if you're travelling over 125 miles)
Eligibility
You must be studying and living in the UK
You must live over 30 miles from the GAIN event location
For GIIP Spring Days accomodation: You must travel more than 125 miles from your university or home address to the event
Note: If you're studying in the same city as the event (during term time), this bursary does not apply.
Submit your application, receipts, and bank details within 5 working days of the event ending.

GAIN Bursary – Schools and Colleges
This bursary supports schools and colleges with a high proportion of students from disadvantaged backgrounds, helping pupils access:

What We Cover
Travel costs for up to 5 students per school or college per event
Eligibility
To qualify, your school or college must:
Be non-fee-paying
Have 30% or more students eligible for Pupil Premium
If your school doesn’t meet these exact criteria but still faces financial barriers, please get in touch to discuss your situation.
